Task Bar Hero chests are vital for getting better gear for your heroes and all sorts of useful items and materials that will help on your adventures. The issue is they're not that easy to come by at first, but, if you buy the right Runes, you can increase the drop rates of these loots containers. The more Runes you buy, the more chests you'll get, which means more gear for your party, making them stronger. Since it's such an important mechanic for progression, read my guide below to make sure you know how to get chests in Task Bar Hero and what sorts of loot you can get from them.
How to farm Task Bar Hero chests
Chests in Task Bar Hero come in three flavors, each dropping from their own sources and offering loot that's usually appropriate to the level of your heroes. Every chest drops only one item and it can be a weapon for any character, any armor piece, or any material or upgrade item:
- Common Chests: Have a low chance to drop from non-boss monsters and will most likely contain Common (white) gear. While the drop chance is low, you should still get a few of these chests every hour.
- Stage Boss Chests: Have a chance to drop after defeating the boss monster found at the end of a Stage. Uncommon (green) gear has the highest likelihood of dropping.
- Act Boss Chests: Have a chance to drop after beating an Act Boss found in Stage 10 of any Act. A Task Bar Hero Soulstone is required to defeat them. Rare (blue) gear has the highest chance of dropping from these chests.
- Note that all the above chests have a very low chance to drop Legendary-Grade gear right from the start, and this chance increases slightly as your characters level up, eventually allowing higher grade gear to drop, such as Immortal, Arcana, and Beyond-grade.
The random nature of these chest drop rates means you can't farm them reliably at first, but there are plenty of Task Bar Hero Runes that you can unlock that will boost the drop rate and eventually make them quite common.
Spend your gold on any Runes of Exploration and Runes of Conquest as each one will slightly increase the drop chance of Common Chests and Stage Boss Chests respectively. You should also get Runes of Containment, Runes of the Vault, and Runes of Infinity to increase the number of Common, Stage Boss, and Act Boss chests you can hold at one time so that you don't lose any.
With these Runes activated, you can then farm chests in Task Bar Hero by selecting the hardest stage that your party can still consistently succeed at via the Portal (depending on what the stage is, you might also unlock one of the Task Bar Hero pets doing this). Harder stages usually feature more encounters and more enemies, so that means more opportunities for your party get Common Chests. Having a good Task Bar Hero build also allows your adventurers to get through the Stage quickly, therefore farming bosses and their chests even more efficiently.
Keep the game running as you can't earn chests while offline, and you should eventually amass plenty of weapons and armor to outfit your party and substantially bolster their power. With this method, you should also get a few Soulstones too, letting you repeatedly fight Act Bosses for the best odds at great gear.
