With Black Ops 7, Call of Duty is heading into uncharted territory. On November 14, 2025, Treyarch is delivering back-to-back installments to the Black Ops franchise for the first time in the series' history.

Through extensive, exclusive interviews with the developers at Treyarch in recent weeks, we learned that Black Ops 7 has two primary goals. It's designed to be an expansive love letter to Black Ops 2, the 2012 FPS which many players believe to be the apex of the sub-franchise; and a smart expansion of Black Ops 6, the 2024 shooter that not only introduced Omnimovement, but brought about the return of elements such as classic prestige and round-based zombies.
