Marvel star Tom Holland has revealed he wants to mentor the next Spider-Man, just like his MCU co-star Robert Downey Jr. did for him.
"For whoever's next, whether that is a Miles Morales or a Spider-Gwen or a Spider-Woman or something like that, I would love to be a part of setting up the next chapter," Holland told Empire magazine. "Whatever that looks like, I don't know. But if I could do what Downey did for me, then I would be so content swinging off into the sunset."
Holland made his MCU debut in Captain America: Civil War, which saw Downey Jr.'s Iron Man take the webslinger under his wing. So, it sounds like the same thing happened behind the scenes, too.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrives later this summer as the fourth film in the MCU Spidey series, and it looks set to be Peter Parker's darkest outing yet. After all, the No Way Home ending saw everyone in the multiverse forget Peter Parker – meaning Zendaya and Ned both have no idea who he is anymore.
"It is the first Spider-Man film that we've made in the MCU that is focused on the classic elements of Spider-Man," Marvel boss Kevin Feige has said of the new film. "He's doing the Spidey thing of living in a rather sad, small apartment, listening to the police scanner and going out and using his great power responsibly."
Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrives this July 31. It looks like a second trailer is imminent, too, so we hopefully won't have long to wait to see more of the Marvel Phase 6 movie.
