The Russo Brothers say Avengers: Doomsday is a "complete reinvention" for Marvel and the audience isn't "expecting it at all"

Avengers: Doomsday is coming very soon, and directors the Russo Brothers have teased that it's going to shake-up the MCU.

The film brings back Robert Downey Jr., only this time he's playing the bad guy: Doctor Doom.

"What Marvel's done better than anybody in history is that serialized storytelling, at scale. And Doomsday is a complete reinvention, it's another swing," said Joe Russo during a chat on the brothers' production company AGBO Film's YouTube. "I don't think the audience is expecting it at all, what happens in the movie, and its tone and its subject matter. But I'm hoping it feels like another profound shift for them in that serialized story."

Along with Downey Jr., the supersized cast list involves the likes of the Thunderbolts, the Fantastic Four, the Fox-era X-Men, and Chris Hemsworth's Thor.

Reed Richards actor Pedro Pascal recently shared he "wouldn't even know where to begin" about teasing what to come between his character and Doom.

"There's so much to expect," he added. "We shot it, but I haven't seen it yet. I can't wait."

Another Fantastic Four actor, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, who plays the Thing, has also revealed that he didn't see an ending to the movie while filming. "Yeah, I did read a full script, but those scripts change quite a bit. You know what? Probably not, it probably didn't have a full, like, third act. I don't think it had an ending. I don't think anyone gets to see that stuff," he shared.
