Marvel fans think that the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailers have already shown the first and last shots of the movie, and it's kind of heartbreaking
We may have already seen the first and last scenes in Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Another Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer has landed, and one Marvel fan thinks the new video, along with the first trailer, includes the first and last shots of the movie.
"Peter visits Aunt May's grave twice," said the fan on Reddit. "I can only assume the rain visit is the first one, and the mellow day visit is the second time he visits. It simply warms my heart." Another fan added, "They might be the bookends of the movie. The rainy one is the beginning where we see Peter depressed and strung out. The end is when he’s fine and found the balance between Peter and Spidey."
In the first trailer, we see Tom Holland's Peter Parker visit his aunt's grave. He is wearing dark clothing and looks rather sad, which is reflected in the dreary weather. Fans will remember that May died in the last Spider-Man movie. However, in the most recent trailer, we see Parker visit May's resting place again, but this time he is wearing brighter clothes, seems happier, and the sun is shining. It's rather serendipitous.
We already know that Spider-Man: Brand New Day picks up with Parker in a rather glum state after his girlfriend MJ (Zendaya) and best friend Ned (Jacob Batalon) had their memories wiped at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home. With no friends or family, and no one really knowing who he his, Parker throws himself into full-time crimefighting. But we have a feeling that Brand New Day will pull him out of his slump, as the new movie sees Spider-Man face a host of new villains. With that in mind, the grave scenes could well be the beginning and the end.
The new trailer also gave us a deeper look at the bodily changes Parker is set to experience. Also shown in the first trailer, Holland's Spider-Man finally experiences growing organic webs and even has black eyes at one point. This has led a lot of fans to presume he is going to turn into Man-Spider or Symbiote Spider-Man. However, his low mood may be the ticket to his transformation, just as with Tobey Maguire's Spidey in Spider-Man 2.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theaters on July 31. For more, check out our guide on how to watch the Spider-Man movies in order, and keep up with upcoming Marvel movies.
