Carnival killer

Imagine a macabre futuristic city that looks like 18th century London. A brutal killer stalks the streets on a rampage of terror – but he’s not interested in humans, he’s after the strange creatures that now live among us. Palms a little sticky? Yeah, us too.

Screenwriting newcomer Travis Beacham has sold his spec script Killing On Carnival Row to New Line Cinema, who have roped in Anne and Arnold Kopelson to produce.

The last time the husband and wife team linked up with New Line was with a little serial killer tale by Andrew Kevin Walker called Se7en – and we all know where that took them. “It is the first script Travis wrote,” says Arnold Kopelson. “It’s a tentpole film with thrills and a love story, and the writing was extraordinary.”
