Will there be PS5 deals on Black Friday?

This year's Black Friday PS5 deals are nearly upon us, but will there be any discounts worth shouting about in 2023? The short answer is it's highly likely we'll see some savings on Sony's console in November. With price cuts already hitting the system in 2023 so far (down to $449 in the US and £399 in the UK), and the new Slim model set to take over once chunkier stock is run off the shelves, the PS5 has reasons for discounts coming at all angles this year.

There may be one thing standing in our way, though. And it's a device that could make or break PS5 deals this Black Friday. The PS5 Slim will start filtering onto the market from November this year, replacing the older console as stock runs low. That means we could be in a situation on Black Friday itself where all the PS5 deals on the chunky model have already been snapped up, leaving the newer (and less likely to be discounted) Slim model.

Sony's also gone with a pretty bizarre pricing structure for the Slim - you could technically build a $560 PS5 if you picked up the $449 digital edition, the $79.99 disk drive, and the $29.99 vertical stand for some reason. That makes the existing console all the more enticing - at least you get the stand for free - and we could see PS5 deals run off the shelves well before Black Friday begins.

If stock holds out, we'll likely see some excellent offers (hopefully around $449 in the US with a free game and £399 in the UK with a free game). If those older devices start running low in stock with similar savings over the next few weeks, though, you might need to jump in earlier.

Will there be PS5 game deals this Black Friday?

From the early days of Sackboy: A Big Adventure and Spider-Man: Miles Morales, through to recent blockbusters such as Spider-Man 2 and Assassin's Creed Mirage, we're expecting to see a massive range of discounts hitting all kinds of software this year.

Those earlier launch titles may well see the brunt of this year's Black Friday PS5 game deals. With another year under their belts, and rare discounts during that time, we're looking at $30 - $40 sale prices on these once heavy hitters.

However, if you've already played through the early days of PS5, newer releases are set to offer up some strong savings as well. We've already seen recent titles taking larger price cuts in recent weeks; Resident Evil 4, Hogwarts Legacy, Street Fighter 6, and Final Fantasy XVI are at the top of our lists.

Will there be discounts on PS5 SSDs this Black Friday?

Black Friday PS5 SSD deals are going to be huge this year. Ever since the console opened up its internal storage bay for tinkerers in 2021, we've seen brands like Samsung, WD Black, and Crucial offering tailor-made sticks at lower and lower prices. This will likely come to a head on Black Friday, and we're expecting some record low prices on the best models, such as the WD Black SN850 and Samsung 980 Pro, hitting retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, and Newegg.

Will there be Black Friday deals on PS5 accessories?

We're expecting some record low prices on accessories launched alongside the PS5 console and since then. That means some of the best PS5 headsets will likely see some significant discounts over the next few weeks. These cups have been on the shelves for a year now, and have competition in newer releases building on their original offerings with lower price tags. That's a perfect storm for some blockbuster discounts on headsets like the SteelSeries Arctis P, so we'd recommend keeping a close eye out for Black Friday gaming headset deals.

Excitement is also abuzz when it comes to official PS5 accessories. The DualSense controller has been available for as little as $49 / £39.99 in this year's summer sales - a price we'd expect to see again in November. The DualSense Edge has been a little more stubborn, but having released right at the top of 2023 it's primed for some of its first major savings this holiday.

These will likely be particularly speedy deals, though, and will probably be reserved for flash sales on the big day. That means you'll have to be quick off the mark, as any price cuts will likely be snapped up quickly.

We're rounding up all the Black Friday gaming deals we're expecting to see in November, including Black Friday Xbox deals and Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals if you're between consoles.
