Warner Bros CEO says DC movies are 'edgier' than Marvel's

Kevin Tsujihara, CEO of Warner Bros. Entertainment, has been talking about the differences between DC and Marvel movies, describing the DC stable as "edgier" than its rival counterpart.

In an interview with Variety, Tsujihara asserts that throwing all "superhero" content under the same blanket is misleading, stressing the diversity that exists within the genre…

"The key thing is that the movies and the television shows and the games, everything looks very different," explains Tsujihara. "You have to be able to take advantage of the diversity of these characters.”

"The worlds of DC are very different," he continues. "They’re steeped in realism, and they’re a little bit edgier than Marvel’s movies."

With the likes of Suicide Squad and Sandman on the slate, you can see his point, while Batman has always been at the darker end of the superhero spectrum. We look forward to the Marvel response with interest…
