Mad Max: Fury Road has released a brand new image online, featuring Tom Hardy as the titular antihero.
The new image gives us our first proper look at Hardy's take on the character made famous by Mel Gibson, and for our money, he's got the grizzled, weatherbeaten badass look down pat.
The still is a welcome sign that progress is being made on the project, particularly in the wake of news earlier this week that the cast will reconvene to perform three weeks worth of re-shoots .
Whether or not the finished article proves to be worth the wait after such a tortuous production remains to be seen, but it's nice to have something other than a few vehicle images to get excited about.
Directed by George Miller and co-starring Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Mad Max: Fury Road is expected to arrive in cinemas in 2014.
