’Allo ’Allo remake, an unexpected Lis Sladen tribute, social realist Back To The Future and loads more

SITCOM REMAKE OF THE WEEK
The tank. The beret. The silly accents. The naked man. The Nazis. All that was missing was somebody going, “I shall say zis only wonce!” and the Portrait Of The Fallen Madonna With The Big Boobies. Gasp, is it a remake of ’Allo ’Allo ? No, you stupid woman, can you not see it is the latest episode of Sanctuary ?

HOTTEST FIRE OF THE WEEK
How fast did Khal Drogo manage to melt that gold in a cooking pot in Game Of Thrones this week? About ten seconds? 15 at most? That must be one hell of a hot fire. We suspect Daenerys may have been using some of her dragon voodoo on it… Handy if need to char-grill a rat in a hurry, anyway.

MOST POINTLESS USE OF A SONIC DEVICE OF THE WEEK
“It’s a supply pip… ceramic inner lining… something corrosive…” deduces the Doctor after a quick scan with his sonic screwdriver, apparently having lost the ability to read .

SOCIAL GAFFE OF THE WEEK
It’s bad enough when someone turns up in then same dress as the Queen as Camelot…

MOST CREATIVE USE OF OFFICE SUPPLIES OF THE WEEK
This could become a regular award. Last week we had a paperclip X-Wing; this week a Blu-Tack Toothless from How To Train Your Dragon , courtesy of Blu-Tack Movies . Next week we expect to see a Blade Runner cityscape made out of in-trays and magazine holders.

RETRO INTRO OF THE WEEK
Welcome to what-if central. What if there had been a Doctor Who SNES game. And what if the SNES was around at the same time as the current title sequence and not about 15 years earlier? Ah, just put it down to timey whimey stuff, and enjoy what Doctor Octoroc has come up with. Apparently, the music was created using sounds from actual SNES games, including Chrono Trigger , A Link To The Past , F-Zero and Final Fantasy IV . And it still sounds better than the “Trial Of A Timelord” version…

CARTOGRAPHICAL DISCOVERY OF THE WEEK
Did you know t hat if you go to Google Maps and type “Death Star plans” (including the inverted commas), it will take you to Tataouine, Tunisia, and focus on a spot that says “The droids you are looking for”? You do now.

ALTERNATIVE ENDING OF THE WEEK
How Back To The Future may have turned out if a social realist like Ken Loach had directed it…

A CAPELLA ACCOMPANIMENT OF THE WEEK
Brazilian YouTuber Sonaje reproduces all the sounds for Street Fighter II slug-out session using only his mouth…
