Ron Howard opens up his Cache

Ron Howard is gearing up to be a busy boy in 2007, with a multitude of projects catching his eye.

Cache is the one we’re here to tell you about – a remake of the Michael Haneke flick, starring Daniel Auteuil and Juliette Binoche as a couple who keep finding increasingly violent videos on their doorstep. The original is brilliant, but most Americans probably won’t have seen it, ‘cause it’s in French and it’d make them vomit their freedom fries.

Howard’s version will, predictably enough, be set in the US and will apparently amp up the tension, though we’re not really sure how that’s possible.

Universal have snapped up the rights, with Brian Grazer onboard to produce for the Imagine offshoot.

But that’s not all that's on Ron’s plate this year. It seems he fancies fashion industry flick The Look Of The Real, he’s already slated to adapt popular play Frost/Nixon, and he’ll make a start on the Da Vinci Code prequel Angels & Demons eventually.

No sign of the film we all really want to see, the much-vaunted Arrested Development movie, but we can all dream, can’t we?
