Quentin Tarantino reveals his favourite films of 2011

Quentin Tarantino has revealed his favourite (and least favourite) films of 2011.

The Quentin Tarantino Archives have got their hands on the director's rundown of the year, which yields some surprising results.

His #1 movie was Woody Allen's Midnight In Paris . It's an unexpected choice, but not underserving: it was smart, sweet and pretty damn funny, with some spot-on portrayals of '20s icons by the supporting cast.

Elsewhere, his list mixes the mainstream with the offbeat ( The Artist and Our Idiot Brother tie in 10th place!), and there are some shocks ( The Three Musketeers ? Surely an ironic joke...) and he was also kind enough to supply lists of other films he enjoyed, his favourite screenplays, and his worst films of the year.
