The PS5 Future of Gaming showcase has given us our biggest look yet at some of the games that will be launching on PS5 later this year.
But what if you missed the show? Or just fancy catching up on some of the fantastic trailers you witnessed during the stream? Well, you've come to the right place, as we're going to run through every single game from the show, alongside its trailer. So, without further ado, let's start at the beginning.
GTA V + GTA Online
A revamped version of one of PS4's most popular titles, GTA V, will be available in 2021 on PS5. Jetpacks, Tron-esque bikes, post-apocalyptic vehicles and more will be coming to the game, including GTA Online — which will be free on launch to all PS5 owners for its first three months.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales
A sequel to one of the best superhero games of all time, Spider-Man: Miles Morales will follow Peter Parker's successor in what will no doubt prove to be a web-swinging masterpiece. Seriously, the web physics in the first game were incredible. Best of all, it's coming out this holiday!
Gran Turismo 7
Sony's flagship racing game, Gran Turismo, will be landing on PS5 with a bang. An utterly gorgeous trailer filled with all the vroom-vrooms you'd expect, Gran Turismo 7 will surely follow the path of its predecessors and be up there with the best racing games on the console.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
Ratchet & Clank return for their first brand new adventure in years, after the success of the remake on PS4. Featuring all new gadgets, weapons, worlds, and enemies — along with a female Ratchet counterpart(!) — fans of action platformers will feel right at home with this "interdimensional adventure".
Project Athia
A brand new IP coming from Square Enix, this JRPG-esque game featured a lot of stunning environments, fast-paced parkour on clifftops, and terrifying werewolves that we definitely wouldn't want to walk past in a dark alley. Not much else is known about Project Athia other than it's a PS5 exclusive.
Stray
Ever felt like you wanted to be a cat? Well, now you can with Stray, Annapurna Interactive's new game. Set in a post-human world where robots roam the city streets, all we know is this game looks incredibly atmospheric and yes, the cat is wearing a backpack. Expect to play it in 2021.
Returnal
Coming from Housemarque, Returnal is a very sci-fi, atmospheric adventure with some crazy futuristic elements. Third-person shooter gameplay sees you take on monsters and try to discover the meaning behind the protagonists Groundhog Day-esque experience.
Sackboy: A Big Adventure
Sackboy, everyone's favourite knitted PlayStation mascot, is back! This time it's not for a LittleBigPlanet game, but instead for his very own big adventure. Platforming action in a comfy, adorable world with up to four-player co-op gameplay makes this a great title for all the family.
Destruction Allstars
Destruction Allstars is a brutal vehicular combat game with a lot of of flashy lights, explosions, and crowd cheers. Set in an arena called the London Thunderdome, this looks like it has similar potential to something like Rocket League.
Kena: Bridge of Spirits
A brand new IP from Ember Lab, Kena: Bridge of Spirits features some of the cutest visuals we've seen on the PS5 yet. A lot of platforming and some brief combat was shown off, leading us to believe this could be a shoo-in for most adorable game on the console.
Oddworld: SoulStorm
A continuation of the classic Oddworld franchise, Soulstorm is all about the hard-hitting ideas that made it so popular back on the PS1. Once again, you play as Abe as he experiences a brand new story with innovative mechanics.
Ghostwire: Tokyo
Ghostwire: Tokyo is coming in 2021 and while we've known about it for a while, this new trailer shows off more of the spooky encounters you'll face in this first-person horror game.
Jett: The Far Shore
Jett: The Far Shore is an "interstellar trip" which sees you "carve out a future for a people haunted by oblivion, propelled by dreams". With no clue what the gameplay will actually look like, all we can say is this one has definitely got us intrigued.
Goodbye Volcano High
Goodbye Volcano High is a story about high school-aged dinosaurs - or maybe they're dragons? - in a game that looks to tackle the complex teenage emotions that bubble around when you prepare to leave your school. Created by the studio behind GNOG, it's arriving in 2021 on PS5 and PS4.
Godfall
One of the PS5 launch window titles we've known about for some time, Godfall has a brand new trailer featuring "breathtaking weapons" and "godlike armor". If you've been desperate for a fast-paced, combat-heavy game to get your teeth stuck into, this could be the one.
Solar Ash
From the creators of cult classic Hyper Light Drifter, Solar Ash moves away from the 2D pixel style of that classic into a vibrant 3D perspective. We can't wait to learn more about this Annapurna published game.
Hitman III
Since the reboot of the Hitman franchise, IO Interactive has been knocking it out of the park and Hitman 3 is no different. This trailer showed off a brief glimpse of Agent 47 exploring a Dubai rooftop, with the game coming in January 2021.
Astro's Playroom
A sequel to one of the best PSVR games, Astro's Playroom is another light-hearted adventure with fun-filled worlds and even more bot buddies to rescue.
Little Devil Inside
Another new indie game, Little Devil Inside had all sorts going on. Side-scrolling, open-world combat, and more; definitely one to keep an eye on as we learn more about it and hopefully defeat that massive dragon at the end.
NBA 2K21
It wouldn't be a games showcase without a sports game now, would it? Pre-alpha footage of NBA 2K21 has truly breathtaking visuals, although we don't know much else about the game for the time being. It's one of the earliest games coming to PS5, in Fall 2020.
Bugsnax
Easily the oddest game in the showcase, Bugsnax comes from the creators of Octodad in Holiday 2020, with the ability to eat sentient fruit and explore a very strange island indeed. Make sure you watch till the very end of the trailer too...
Demon's Souls
A remake of the very first Souls game, Demon's Souls PS5 features everything you'd expect; high fidelity environments, terrifying enemies, and chilling music combine to make a remake that almost everyone has been hoping for.
Deathloop
Bethesda's next release, Deathloop is all about killing eight targets before midnight via the use of a deathloop. Apt. Problem is, you've got an arch-enemy trying to kill you in the meantime. Stylish and innovative, we're excited for this one.
Resident Evil 8: Village
The one game that certainly won't let you sleep at night, Resident Evil 8 expands on Resident Evil 7's house setting to feature an entire village in terrifying circumstances. Plus, Chris Redfield and Ethan Winters return, but not in circumstances you'd expect.
Pragmata
We know very little about Pragmata, but the trailer shows an astronaut in a Dead Space-esque suit rescuing a little girl from a satellite plummeting to Earth. They land on the moon and speak about freedom, but it's not coming till 2022 so we've likely got a while to wait before we hear more.
Horizon Forbidden West
Aloy's back! The Horizon Forbidden West trailer shows off actual, living wildlife, while Aloy narrates about how to stop "it" before it "destroys us all". Underwater gameplay seems to feature, along with varied biomes like deserts, oceans, and even what appears to be the Golden Gate Bridge. We. Can't. Wait.
PS5 Reveal Trailer
And finally, a look at the PS5 design itself! The white and blue console wasn't what we were expecting, but it's distinctive, bold, and looks like the future. We're digging it, basically.
