LEGO Batman movie will address the happiness of the Dark Knight

Will Arnett will soon be lending his voice to LEGO’s take on the Dark Knight in The LEGO Batman Movie, with producer Phil Lord revealing that the central thrust of the story revolves around Batman’s happiness…

“No spoilers,” said Lord to MTV News. “But I will say I think the movie is really exciting because it’s about ‘can Batman be happy?’”

Should be a fun concept for Lord and co-producer Chris Miller to play with, although the former has stressed that there will still be plenty of “incredible” action to go alongside all the feels.

“The first little bit that I’ve seen was mind-boggling,” agrees Arnett, before Lord goes on to explain just why Batman is so tormented…

“Batman is the ultimate in white people problems,” says Lord. “It’s like, ‘oh I’m so rich and handsome and women like me and… something about my parents!'”

Directed by Chris McKay, The LEGO Batman Movie will open in the US on 10 February 2017, with a UK date to be confirmed.
