A sober, measured doc from writer/director Michael Madsen (no, not that one) on the unsettling question: what to do with the increasing quantities of nuclear waste littering the planet, given that it remains lethal for 100,000 years?
Concentrating on one site in Finland, where waste is buried 500 metres down and plastered with warning notices, Madsen asks assembled boffins: how about earthquakes or volcanic eruptions? And 1,000 centuries hence, will anyone still read English?
Thought-stirring stuff – but it tediously makes the same point over and over again.
