Four Lions Sundance reactions

Brit-com Four Lions , the ‘Jihadist comedy’ from Brass Eye brain Chris Morris, is currently taking the Sundance Film Festival by storm.

It’s Morris’ feature film debut, and has been generating some great buzz Stateside.

Indie Wire dropped in with their two cents, calling the film “almost a masterpiece”, while adding that it “pulls off an unlikely feat by avoiding any kind of outright spoof. The characters are no laughing matter; instead, their bumbling tendencies suggest a universal human fragility: The joke is on all of us.”

Meanwhile, The Guardian says the film has its faults, but “is watchable for the performances of Riz Ahmed, Kayvan Novak, Arsher Ali, Nigel Lindsay and Adeel Akhtar as the jihadis. Their internecine warfare brings the biggest laughs.”

Could it grab any of the gongs that will be handed out at the close of ceremony awards party? Here's hoping.
