V/H/S hasn’t been released in the UK yet (it’s set to arrive January 2013), but its sequel is already gathering pace and has released a first official image.
V/H/S 2 (or S-VHS as it’s now known) will follow the same found-footage compilation structure as its predecessor, with a brace of talented directors on board. Helming segments this time round? Gareth Evans ( The Raid ) and Timo Tjahjanto, Eduardo Sánchez ( The Blair Witch Project ) and Greg Hale, Jason Eisener, and Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett.
Twitch has the first official image, which is taken from the Evans/ Tjahjanto segment, and you can see it above.
It’s not entirely clear what’s going on, but given that we have a first-person perspective of a guy whose body has been mutilated with occult markings, it’s safe to predict that the sequel will have its fair share of unhinged frights.
V/H/S opens in the UK on 18 January 2013. The sequel is expected to open in 2013.
