Morph
What does it do?
Activating Morph will transform any NPCs near you (up to 4) into exact duplicates of your character model. After Smoke Bomb, this is probably the best defensive ability in the game.
Technique – Hay Bale Lookout
The Hay Bale Lookout technique is designed to help you keep the lead when you’re dealing with 2-4 pursuers or to simply hide. In a nutshell, you find a hay bale or bush or whatever that’s surrounded by static blend groups and you use the Morph ability to transform a handful of NPCs. Once you have a group of clones just chilling out, immediately hop into the hay. Lie in wait and cackle to yourself as would-be assassins’ haplessly attack your clones and net you +100 Lure Bonuses.
Throwing Knives
What does it do?
By targeting and hitting another player with the Throwing Knives Ability, they will fall off any walls they are climbing and their movement is temporarily slowed to a crawl.
The Basics
Weekly digests, tales from the communities you love, and more
The Throwing Knives Ability is similar to Hidden Gun in that it helps you rein in some of the more flighty players; however, using the ability effectively requires a great deal more skill and positioning. The upside to this is that you get way more points for pulling off a kill. It should go without saying that you’ll need to be able to reach your Target and kill them before they recover.
Templar Vision
What does it do?
Templar Vision outlines all targets with a bright blue aura and all pursuers with a bright red aura.
The Basics
Templar Vision is a fantastic tool if you need to find a target that’s hidden in the crowd or if you’re trying to get a read on a potential pursuer; however, using this ability also causes your character’s entire body to glow a bright white. It’s hard to remain inconspicuous when you’re lit up like a damn Christmas tree.
Charge
What does it do?
The Charge Ability causes your character to barrel forward and automatically kill any target they come in contact with. Conversely, you’ll automatically stun any pursuer who’s unlucky enough to be in your way. NPCs are simply thrown the the way-side.
The Basics
Charge is a “fire and forget” sort of ability. If you’re facing a crowd and you’re not entirely sure where your target is, simply activate Charge. This ability will do all the work for you. All you need to do is make sure that you’re pointed in the right direction.
Decoy
What does it do?
Decoy transforms a nearby NPC into a duplicate of your character model. This clone will then go sprinting off in a random direction and will even climb over obstacles and up buildings.
The Basics
A fantastic defensive ability, Decoy is the perfect ruse to fool any nearby pursuers who aren’t entirely sure of your location. This ability is most effective when used from within a moving blend group.
Poison
What does it do?
This ability injects a target with a lethal dose of poison that will kill them within mere seconds. The animation for this ability is similar to the gentle push, so you won’t give away your position by using it. Add to that, killing a target using Poison will net you a +200 Poison Bonus.
Technique – Focused Poison Cocktail
You’re going to need both the Smoke Bomb and Poison Ability equipped to your Ability Set for this one. Start by invading your target’s personal bubble so the Focus Meter begins to climb. Before they notice that you’ve been tailing just a little too close to them, drop the smoke bomb. Wait until the focus meter has filled completely and then give them a nice dose of poison. Even if the guy pulls off a stun, you’re looking at a +150 Focus Bonus, a +200 Poison Bonus and whatever Stealth Bonus you were rocking beforehand. You’re welcome.
Mute
What does it do?
Mute is basically a very crappy Smoke Bomb. Activating the ability will prevent all players within its AoE from using any abilities (including killing or stunning you).
The Basics
If you want to know how to use Mute effectively, just revisit the first page of this article and read the tips for Smoke Bomb. Just keep in mind that you have way less room for error with this ability and the cooldown is also much much longer (90 seconds).
