Torchlight free for GOG's DRM-Free Summer Sale

Good Old Games is kicking off its DRM-Free Summer Sale with two days of free Torchlight. The original action RPG from Runic Games is 100-percent free until June 20. That's a hard act to follow, but GOG has plans for more than two weeks of savings from 50 percent off and up on more than 500 games.

Selected titles include 90 percent off Alan Wake and Alan Wake's American Nightmare, and all of GOG's Dungeons & Dragons games, including the Baldur's Gate series and Planescape: Torment. Mac players shouldn't miss out on newly re-released classic System Shock 2, which is native to Apple's OS for the first time in its 14-year history.

Indie games like FTL and Hotline Miami will round out the lineup of new, old, big, and small. Each round of discounts is offered on a daily basis.

Nothing recent. There were multiple Ultima games. I booted up one of the games - Teenagent - which was a point and click adventure that was on DOS back in the day. I guess the site is called "good old games" for a reason!

There are a fair number of games that go free temporarily, like Torchlight is right now. Newer games on the site obviously won't be free.

In addition to Torchlight being free, I also got 10 additional games; I guess the extra games are for signing up with GoG though. Although I may never play any of these for an extended period of time, there's no reason not to get them.
