Nintendo has published new Wii U and 3DS release schedules for the US and Europe, confirming launch months for several of its key games and delays to other titles. As part of its E3 analyst briefing, in which the company outlined plans to boost hardware sales by releasing a steady stream of major games over the coming year, Nintendo released the images you can see above.

Of note, upcoming 3DS adventure Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds (previously known as A Link To The Past 2) will hit the US in November and Europe "toward the end of this year." Retro’s freshly revealed Wii U game, Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, is also set for release this November in both the US and Europe.

Wii Fit U has been delayed to December 2013 and Mario Golf World Tour, which was previously in line for a summer 2013 release on 3DS, has slipped to 2014. The newly named Yoshi's New Island for 3DS has been given a 2014 launch window.

Nintendo's E3 line-up featured major new reveals including Super Mario 3D World, Mario Kart 8 and the new Super Smash Bros., as well as fresh showings of titles including Bayonetta 2 and The Wonderful 101. Release windows for those games can also be found in the images above.

First image is 3DS, second is Wii U right? So Pikmin 3 is coming in August? Then 101 in September? Good stuff.

*sigh Well at least I have my PS3 and 360 to play while I wait for the 2-3 Wii U games I will buy this year.

So, at least one big game release almost every month. Not bad, not bad. I'm almost glad that I don't own a WiiU as well as my 3DS, else I would be buying nearly all of those games. Also, why is Mario & Luigi just known as "Dream Team" in the US, whereas EU has "Dream Team Brothers"? Why would you even bother changing a title like that? :I

i was actually thinking if they both in english and the diffierence was significant i'd try to download the European version anyway if that was possible, i really need a summer release now, bummer it out near the end of summer oh and they might have changed it to emphasize family makes em more lovable eh?

Well (and someone correct me if I'm wrong) but I think the eShops are tied to the "nationality" of the 3DS. So, a US 3DS will always access the US eShop, and an EU 3DS will always access the EU eShop. Therefore, I think the only way to access the EU eShop outside of Europe is to import a EU 3DS. Sucks, I know. I also think the 3DS is region-locked, so you couldn't import a EU retail copy of the game, either. :C

bummer, well it gonna be super interesting how pokemon gonna be world wide release more people have the chance to make the jump, equal experience time. ya know i wish they'd release a 3ds download like the ruby sapphire storage box thing for game cube. i only played my the story of white once because i didn't wanna delete my team

Yup, I like that Nintendo's releases are becoming more simultaneous worldwide, especially Pokémon because people used to import the JPN version and spoil it for everyone else over the internet. Also, I agree, a download utility that lets you save Pokémon and import them to any new save file you make would be cool, so that you could restart the game without having to worry about losing teams. I've never restarted any of my Pokémon games because I usually finish the Pokédex (even in BW2) and want to trade them onto whichever game comes out next.

shame it'll never happen though since people could just abuse it for multiple gift pokemon and decision based ones, might encourage the people who end up buying both versions instead of trading with others. i'd be fine if they made restrictions so that no legendaries starters or gift pokemon could be stored or limit how many. maybe only give you 1 box worth of space though i'd hope the price would be really low if they doing that another cool feature(never gonna happen) i think is giving you the option of instead of getting a starter you can send over a pokemon to be deleveled and devolved to be your starter and a special move tutor stores the moves it used to know and let you access them at a certain point. no pseudo legendaries and pokemon with no evolutionary relatives(if the pokemon evolved via trade they should be a limited use alternative of once or twice) so you won't breeze through the whole thing

a whole month different anyone mind telling me how to download different regional version?
  • shawksta - June 13, 2013 9:39 a.m.

I love the fact that DKC Tropical Freeze did the same thing Returns did and was revealed out of nowhere at E3 and is read for release on the same month. I just hope Super Mario 3D World doesn't end up rushed like 3D Land

Hi rainn'sgaydar, so you know and it's (hopefully) clear to everyone, the numbers in the pictures relate to the month of the year rather than the day of the month, so 10 and October are just two ways of showing that Nintendo’s talking about October, the tenth month of the year, rather meaning October 10. Does that make sense? Both Windwaker and Pokemon are releasing in October, but most likely not on the same day. Nintendo confirmed on Tuesday that Pokemon X and Y are releasing on October 12, while Wind Waker is currently only confirmed for an October launch.

Price of checking things on a phone in a hurry before a meeting. Thanks for the clarification.

  • Talvari - June 13, 2013 7:12 a.m.

  • ObliqueZombie - June 13, 2013 9:02 a.m.
