The Black Flag Resynced treasure maps and the buried treasure that they lead to are some of the most lucrative searches in the whole game, with plenty of high level rewards for players to find. As a player who's found every treasure map in the game, I'll explain where to find every map, and, just as importantly, where to dig and what the prizes for doing so are. Our guide includes not just all the treasure maps and buried treasures for Resynced, but we've also preserved our guides for the original Assassin's Creed Black Flag from 2013, found on pages 2 and 3 of this guide for your reference.

There are dozens of treasure maps to find in Black Flag Resynced, and in the table below we've laid out where to find them, where to dig up the buried treasure they lead to, and what that treasure is, so you know if it's worth the effort.

When you reach a map's coordinates you'll know if you're close because Edward will say something like "I've seen this place before." If he doesn't say anything like that as you walk around then you need to check the map and coordinates again to check you're in the right area. Once you're standing close enough, an icon will appear for you to dig.
It's important to remember that you can't dig up a treasure in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced unless you've found the map first. If you try and go straight to the dig point without a map you won't get the trigger to start digging.
How to fix map pieces in Black Flag Resynced
You can also find map pieces in Black Flag, which need to be reassembled before you can do anything with them. To do that, you need to complete the following:
- Unlock the hub area Great Inagua.
- Build the Treasure Dealer upgrade to unlock that vendor.
- Bring him all pieces of a map and the additional payment asked for (it varies from map to map).
When you find all the pieces and restore the map you'll be able to use it like any other. These are the multiple maps that can be assembled this way, each one of which is found in a different way.
- Weathered Map (6 Pieces). Found in the chests in Smuggler's Dens, except for one, which is sold by the Treasure Dealer himself.
- Yellowed Map (10 Pieces). Random rewards for Fleet missions. Only seem to appear on Schooner missions.
- Digested Map (2 Pieces). Slay and skin the White Jaguar on Great Inagua or the one encountered on the Templar Hunt mission "the Taino Assassin".
- Tattered Map (3 Pieces). Found in lockboxes taken from high level Pirate Hunter ships after boarding and capturing them.
- Preserved Map (4 Pieces). Found randomly by looting Warehouses (low reward chance).
