Black Friday Xbox controller deals: FAQ

What to expect from Black Friday Xbox controller deals

Turtle Beach Stealth Ultra Wireless review image of the controller with its lighting on

(Image credit: Future / Duncan Robertson)

Let's start from the top. The Elite Series 2 controller is always the one to look out for during sales events. Even as it gets older, it's still one of the best gamepads ever made, and it comfortably gives controllers that launched this year a run for their money. Its list price is still technically $179.99, but we see it discounted a lot more frequently these days its average price tends to be around the $150 mark in total.

The cheaper Elite Series 2 Core model saw prolonged discounts through October and November in 2023, making it a super affordable way to get hands-on with the Elite Series 2. If you buy the accessories pack, or indeed some third-party accessories for it, this could be the most affordable route into a superb controller. We had hoped that prolonged discounts in 2023 might have pointed at a new Elite Series controller coming soon, but we've had no word so far. As third-party officially licensed controllers on Xbox platforms continue to go from strength to strength, it could be worth focusing your budget on them instead.

(Image credit: Future / Duncan Robertson)

Then, of course, there are the budget brands, which are as cheap as anything at the best of times. The GameSir G7 SE is excellent value, as are options from Turtle Beach, PowerA, and more. A few new options from these brands have hit the shelves in 2024, but our favorites list still includes the older models, and they'll be well worth spending some money on this November.

The Turtle Beach Stealth Ultra Wireless could be a big one to watch in November. In my opinion, it's one of the very best Xbox controllers of all time, and as more gamepads with four back buttons have been released this year, it's becoming a bit overlooked and underrated. It's highly likely we'll see a solid discount on this pad come November, so keep an eye out for that.

Then there's the Victrix Pro BFG for Xbox, our latest favorite, and one that any competitive player should be keeping an eye on. Not only is there excellent performance here, but the versatility thanks to its modular design is stunning, and gives it lots of scope across so many gaming genres.

New to the race is the Razer Wolverine V3 Pro, which is a pretty recent release. It's a bit less likely this will see its first discount in November, but if you want what is likely the best controller Razer has ever produced, maybe wait to see how affordable it gets this Holiday swing.

When will Black Friday Xbox controller deals start?

Black Friday Xbox controller deals will begin on November 29 in 2024. In the past couple of years, we've noticed offers beginning earlier and earlier, so for all of that Thanksgiving week, be on the lookout for controllers going cheap.

Where will the best Black Friday Xbox controller deals be?

We will be covering the best Black Friday Xbox controller deals right here as they come in. However, of course, we know who are the likely players in this game. The below retailers will be the ones to check out for all of this year's Black Friday gaming deals.

US:
Amazon:
should always be your first stop for gaming peripherals
Best Buy:
always has stock, regularly has discounts
GameStop: the gaming retailer has strong stock levels of all pads
Newegg: the PC-focused store has a decent variety of Xbox gear in stock
Walmart:
store collection and masses of stock - a solid option

UK:
Amazon:
remains the best starting point for gaming controllers
Very: regularly has great levels of choice for gaming peripherals
Currys:
the place to go for a great variety of gaming tech and gear
Argos: sometimes offers same-day delivery on items and decent prices
John Lewis:
might surprise us with stock and deals on the big day
Box:
growing in stature as a retailer worth visiting for any gaming tech
Ebuyer: known for PC parts, but still offers a bunch of console gaming gear

If you're after more accessories we're also rounding up everything from this year's Black Friday gaming headset deals, as well as Black Friday Xbox Series X TV deals as well. If you're looking to use your controller with Windows, however, it's worth taking a look at the Black Friday gaming PC deals. Need something to test those buttons? Check out everything we are seeing in this year's Black Friday video game deals.

Hardware Editor

One of my earliest memories is playing SuperMario64 and wondering why the controller I held had three grips, but I only had two hands. Ever since I've been in love with video games and their technology. After graduating from Edinburgh Napier University with a degree in Journalism, I contributed to the Scottish Games Network and completed an Editorial Internship at Expert Reviews. Over the last decade, I’ve been managing my own YouTube channel about my love of games too. These days, I'm one of the resident hardware nerds at GamesRadar+, and I take the lead on our coverage of gaming PCs, VR, controllers, gaming chairs, and content creation gear. Now, I better stop myself here before I get talking about my favourite games like HUNT: Showdown, Dishonored, and Towerfall Ascension.
