Like a renowned chef honing their art, cooking a well-done steak in Monster Hunter Rise takes skill and practice if you want to create a succlent piece of meat. Your timing has to be extremely precise, as a mere fraction of a second can be the tipping point between perfect and burnt. However, it's worth mastering this culinary skill so you can get it right, as a well-done steak can fully replenish your stamina. Fugen the Elder also requests one for an early quest, so you'll have to do it at least once in order to progress.

How to cook well-done steak in Monster Hunter Rise

When you've got some raw meat you'll be able to cook it using the BBQ Spit found in the radial menu. Once you've activated it your hunter will prop up a folding chair with a spit above an open fire and start cooking.

To get a well done steak, pay attention to the texture and color of the meat you're cooking - the change from raw to rare is obvious. Pressing the button here will give you a rare steak which is useful, but will only restore a moderate amount of stamina. Burning it is also obvious, as it'll go black - this actually has the chance to reduce your stamina instead so you really want to avoid it.

The well done steak exists in a brief moment between rare and burnt. You'll really need to pay attention but you should see the texture and color slightly change as it goes from rare to well-done. It barely lasts a second though so hit the button as soon as you see this change. As a rough guide it's around eight seconds from starting cooking if you're wondering how long a well done steak actually takes in Monster Hunter Rise.

Once you've done it a few times you should have a feel for both the timing and change you're looking for and be able to consistently achieve well-done steak.
