Lego Batman trailer pokes fun at gloomy Batman movies of years past

If recent live-action adaptations of DC's Dark Knight have got you feeling dour, wishing for something more whimsical and fun, it looks like The LEGO Batman Movie will scratch that itch. A new trailer lightly pokes fun at the gloomy moping of previous big-screen versions of the hero, including "that weird one in 1966." Check it out:

While I definitely enjoy the LEGO universe's take on Batman (including his apparent obsession with becoming a top-notch recording artist), I was equally happy for the brief glimpses we got at the LEGO version of the Justice League and Batman's rogues gallery. I never thought I'd say this but, I'd really like to have my own LEGO Bane.

Directed by Chris McKay and featuring the voices of Will Arnett, Zach Galifianakis, Rosario Dawson, Ralph Fiennes, and Mariah Carey, The LEGO Batman Movie opens in the UK and US on February 10, 2017.
