Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2's Chris Pratt has wrapped filming

Last month we learned that Kurt Russell had wrapped filming on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, spawning some appreciative tweets from director James Gunn. Now Star-Lord himself Chris Pratt has completed his work on the film - although, as with all Marvel films, reshoots are likely already scheduled in should they be needed - and Gunn has taken to Facebook to post a wrap video.

I'm feeling the love guys!

In news that is sure to delight many fans, Gunn also confirmed that he and the cast of Guardians Vol. 2 will be making an appearance at San Diego Comic-Con next month. The first Guardians movie had only been shooting for a week when the cast made an appearance at SDCC in 2014, but Marvel still managed to put together a satisfying sizzle reel that also managed to get "ooga-chaka" stuck in all our heads. With principal photography on Guardians 2 already nearing completion Gunn and co could be bringing along some much more refined footage this time round, and it's a safe bet that their panel will be one of the highlights of the weekend.

Directed by James Gunn and starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Michael Rooker, Kurt Russell, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will hit UK cinemas on April 28, 2017 and open in US theatres on May 5, 2017.
