The latest Fortnite patch notes are in, and following the Fortnite Fortnitemares challenges, the Fortnite 14.50 update goes live today. Recent leaks pointed towards the upcoming return of jetpacks thanks to sound files found in the most recent update, and the latest patch notes confirm we'll be seeing them make a comeback.

As FortniteInsider reports, Epic Games has revealed the patch notes in the latest round of support-a-creator program highlights. The notes reveal that jetpacks will officially be making a return, with "new and improved" versions courtesy of Stark Industries. Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4 brought with it a host of Marvel superheroes to the island who are all preparing to take on Galactus in the Nexus war, with the likes of Thor, Iron Man, Storm, She-Hulk, Groot, Mystique, and Dr Doom.

Alongside the jetpacks, new bonus challenges will also be arriving in the new update to offer players an "XP extravaganza" in the lead up to Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5. You'll be able to take on these challenges in groups with your pals, and "put your skills to the test" with party-wide XP challenges.

Epic Games also recently revealed an upcoming Ghost Rider cup event, which is set to begin on November 4. You and two friends can enter to compete in the cup and take on limited time Marvel Knockout Trios in a bid to earn the Ghost Rider Marvel legend's outfit that was recently teased.

And finally, the patch notes also highlight the upcoming Fortnite next-gen upgrade for the Xbox Series X and PS5. As detailed in an extensive blog post, the upgrade benefits include 4K resolution at 60 FPS, split-screen multiplayer 60FPS support, faster match loading, and dynamic visuals and physics - the Xbox Series S version will include 1080p resolution at 60FPS. Fortnite on PS5 will also feature DualSense controller support and the ability to select a mode from the home screen.
