The previously rumoured Borderlands 2 Game of the Year Edition has been officially announced. Priced at £29.99 on PC and £39 on Xbox 360 and PS3, it will be available internationally on October 11. Publisher 2K Games says the package will include over £75 of gameplay content, from the main title itself to what were formerly pre-order bonuses, expansions and additional character classes.
Gearbox president Randy Pitchford said: “For us and for fans, the love for Borderlands 2 has been nothing short of spectacular, so it's natural for us to want everyone else to have a chance to experience the best-selling game and its most valuable expansion content.”
Borderlands 2 launched last September and shipped six million units in 2012, according to 2K Games. We said of the shooter-RPG hybrid in our Borderlands 2 review: “If you like to shoot, and you dig collecting loot, Borderlands 2 has enough to scratch your itch for some time to come.”
