A first trailer has been released for action thriller Safe House , in which a not-so-cuddly Denzel Washington goes on the rampage as rogue CIA assassin Tobin Frost.
Brought in to the titular safe house for questioning (read torture) by the agency, he finds himself in the charge of Ryan Reynolds’ rookie agent, although just who is in charge of the situation is up for debate.
As if that weren’t stressful enough a situation on its own merits, it soon becomes clear that Frost is the target of some even more sinister figures, who will go through anything (and anyone) to make sure their man doesn’t leave the safe house alive.
Take a look at the trailer below…
Coming off like a cross between Training Day and a buddy-movie Bourne , Safe House looks set to deliver hi-octane explodiness in spades, whilst the talented supporting cast (including Vera Farmiga, Brendan Gleeson and Robert Patrick) should ensure the OTT action is grounded by some solid performances.
A first poster has also been released, in which Denzel looks suitably mean and moody. Not sure about that tag line, but still…
Directed by Snabba Cash helmer Daniel Espinosa, the film opens in UK cinemas on 24 February 2012.
