I sure hope you like images of people looking forlornly at faraway buildings, because Dark Souls 3 is bringing the heat in that respect. This new batch of images From Software's final Dark Souls game reveals some new enemies, some new locations... and, as it turns out, one very old location.
Confirmed by the press release, the second image in that gallery shows a location called Firelink Shrine, known to series veterans as Dark Souls' first area, post-tutorial. It's long been speculated that Dark Souls 3 would return to the first game's world in some way, and this appears to confirm that - although this new Firelink does differ significantly in looks from the original. It's that Miyazaki mystery magic at work.
I would say we only have to wait for its release on 12th April to find out what the deal is, but it always takes months for people to make sense of what's actually going on in these games.
