Kick-Ass 2 has been pushed back in the US in Universal’s release schedule until August, in order to make room for another comic-book adaptation, 2 Guns .
That film has been moved forward to the beginning of August, while Kick-Ass 2 will now arrive in US screens on 16 August 2013.
The delay seems to be down to a simple scheduling tweak, as opposed to a problem with Kick-Ass 2 ’s production, although the film has been so long in the pipeline that fans could be forgiven for fretting.
The new movie will follow the progression of Christopher Mintz-Plasse’s character into outright villainy, while Kick-Ass will link up with fellow vigilantes Justice Forever.
Directed by Jeff Wadlow and co-starring Chloë Grace Moretz, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Jim Carrey, Kick-Ass 2 will still open in the UK on 19 July 2013.
