I'm once again asking you to keep an eye on microSD Express Cards for your Switch 2 this Prime Day
This could be your chance to get a pricey Switch 2 SD card for less
Prime Day is kicking off next week, and if you have a Nintendo Switch 2, I recommend you take advantage of the savings and try to grab a microSD Express card deal above all else.
The best Nintendo Switch 2 microSD Card starts at $59 at Amazon, and that's for just 256GB of extra space. That's pretty pricey all things considered, and it only gets worse from there on out. Want more than just double that of the onboard storage of the handheld? Then expect to fork out at least $119.99, all for the ability to store and run digital Switch 2 games, as you cannot do that on your older Ninty cards.

I understand why these cards are more pricier than their non-express counterparts (they provide faster data reading and writing speeds), but that doesn't make their prices any easier to digest. They also seem to be going the way of the best SSDs for gaming too, as I've noticed cards like PNY's 1TB microSD Express have gone from $199.99 to $299.99 in a matter of months, a $100 increase for the same amount of space.
It's been a year since the Nintendo Switch 2 came on the scene, and I had hoped we'd see far more savings on these speedy cards by now. Discounts do happen, but the kind of dramatic markdowns I had hoped for during the handheld's launch aren't as common as I had hoped. But hopefully, Amazon Prime Day could be different.
To help make hunting for a microSD Express Card bargain this Prime Day a bit easier, I've gathered a list of some cards you should be looking out for. Feel free to bookmark these pages, or better yet, add them to a private Amazon Wishlist to help keep a better track of any price cuts that come their way on June 23.

Weekly digests, tales from the communities you love, and more

Ever since I first held a NES controller in my hand I've been obsessed with gaming, and the hardware it runs on. I could hook up a NES and SNES to a telly, without instructions, before I could walk. Even now, nothing is more exciting then taking a console, or handheld, out the box for the first time and setting it up. This obsession transformed into a love of games and game music, which lead to my music degree and dream of becoming the Scottish Nobuo Uematsu. After sharing my love of games through music, I began to share my love through words on sites like TechRadar and iMore. This lead to becoming a Hardware staff writer for PCGamesN, and later the Senior Tech Writer for Dexerto, covering all things Steam Deck, PlayStation and Nintendo. With that experience, I was able to level up as Hardware Editor for GamesRadar+, where I'm still just as Nintendo, PlayStation and gaming tech obsessed as ever.
