How to find Tortuga in Windrose
Don’t spend hours sailing on the hunt, here's where to find Tortuga in Windrose
Tortuga in Windrose is one of the most important locations in the game, a major hub zone and trading hub that players won't just visit, but probably make a habit of coming back to over and over for new upgrades, faction quests, and more besides. However, it's not easily found and is actually tied to a specific quest that you'll need to resolve before you can reach it, what with the location of Tortuga being partially randomised. Fortunately there's still an easy way to find it, as I'll explain below.
How to find Tortuga's location in Windrose
Due to every map being slightly different, sharing my in-game location of Tortuga likely won’t be of much use to you as your location will be different. However, it can still be very easy to track down thanks to the tutorial mission.
When completing the ‘How My Sea Adventure Began’ Tutorial quest, the final objective within this mission will place a marker for Tortuga on your map. Follow this marker and you’ll find your way there with ease.
If you’re setting sail for Tortuga for the first time, you might find that the journey is pretty long as it’s usually found somewhere around the centre of the map. It’s also located in Undead Waters, which can be pretty risky to sail in, so be prepared with some Repair kits for your ship just in case.
Once you arrive at Tortuga in Windrose, you’ll immediately unlock a fast travel point, which can be found on the shore on the right hand side of the pier. This means you can blink back and forth between here and home whenever you need, saving you from making the long journey in the future.

What to do in Tortuga
Once arriving at Tortuga, you may think that you’ve unlocked an easy to access trading hub and while this is partially the case, one important note is that you can’t actually sell items to the factions in Tortuga. You have to find buyers in their own factions separately in order to get rid of any loot you may have gotten your hands on.
Weekly digests, tales from the communities you love, and more
Instead Tortuga is a location that allows you to increase your reputation and buy items from the four factions: Rogue Buccaneers, People of Tortuga, Smugglers of Port Royal and Brethren of the Coast. You can increase your reputation by trading in Crests with the respective faction you want to impress at Tortuga. In order to buy items, you’ll need Piastre which are coins that you’ll collect as you progress through the game.
Alongside interacting with factions, you can also hire helpful NPCs at Tortuga for 500 Piastres. Each of these characters will have their own specific roles like Cook, Tailor or Alchemist. They offer you bonuses within their respective role, just be sure to assign them to a station when you get back to camp.
