Energy: Fighting
This is a pretty straightforward deck wherein your cards build up early on and come out swinging, especially against ex Pokemon as there are multiple cards here that up your power against them. It's relatively straightforward as a strategy too: start with Hitmontop and use the cheap energy costs to start an immediately aggressive play, using the Rocky Helmets to dissuade opponents from attacking you back. Then, once Lucario is set up, bring it to the active spot and begin a series of heavy duty attacks that few opponents can withstand for long.
For clarity, Fighting Pulse, at full power with both Korrina and the Arena of Antiquity, can do an astonishing 190 damage to an opponent. Up to 210 if it's weak to Fighting attacks! That's enough damage to KO the vast majority of Pokemon in PTCGP in a single strike.
- Pros
- High damage output, especially against ex Pokemon
- Very strong early game
- Very low retreat costs
- Cons
- Not much durability
- Predictable strategy
- Struggles if you don't draw Lucario
