New Crimson Desert patch leans further into cozy life sim territory, finally letting players "decorate the area outside your house"
Animal Crossing, is that you?
Crimson Desert might be a stoic open-world action game on the surface, but with every passing day, it strays closer to its true calling as a cozy life sim. Look no further than Pearl Abyss' latest update, which adds new furniture, outdoor decoration options, and much more.
Pearl Abyss is now rolling out a Crimson Desert update, and it's headlining feature finally lets players "decorate the area outside your house." To round out the fresh decoration options, the developer has also added 58 new pieces of furniture to help you stretch your interior/exterior design muscles.
New decorations include four carpets, six hanging planters, four automata toys, a music box, and a couple of pieces of furniture for your one gazillion pets. Notably, all these pieces can now be crafted at either a Workstation or a Loom - and their crafting manuals can be found "from shops, claw machines, the flower basket crafting mission, the box of fortune, and the orb roll challenge."
Souped up house decoration, crafting recipes and workbenches, a growing list of junk to Tetris around your house... Oh, Animal Crossing, how we've missed you!
Crimson Desert's impressive post-launch support has seen it occupy territories you wouldn't expect from an otherwise serious fantasy game. The game's pet sim aspect has been expanded a lot in the weeks since launch, for example, and it even has a Pinball mini-game now, of all things.
The Crimson Desert 1.12.00 patch notes detail an exhaustive list of new changes, including new armour sets and improvements to certain abilities. But for anyone hoping to see an absurdly in-depth fossil-digging and bug-catching feature, there's hope. Pearl Abyss has said players can expect more free updates as long as the demand keeps up, while the developer works on a "substantively different" DLC.
