Square Enix might finally reveal Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 as the RPG's director promises "more updates" on the series "than ever before" this year
Now that Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth have shed their exclusivity deals, the trilogy's director promises we'll hear more about the remade series in the coming year than we ever have. And, suddenly, Final Fantasy 7 Part 3 (Revival? Revenge? Return?) doesn't seem like such a far out dream.
After Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth was dated for Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S earlier today, the remake trilogy's director took to social media to celebrate more people joining the world of Gaia. "With the addition of Switch 2 and Xbox, the game will be released as a full multi‑platform title," he tweets.
"This year, we plan to share more updates on the Final Fantasy 7 Remake Project than ever before," he continues teasing. "We look forward to celebrating together with even more players around the world."

Hamaguchi's quotes are, of course, vague enough to be interpreted in any which way. Maybe he means there'll be loads of merch or crossovers or events leading up to the original game's 30th anniversary next year, but really and truly, FF7 Part 3's announcement seems most likely.
FF7 Rebirth was revealed almost two years on from the last game, and we're now almost two years removed from Rebirth's first release too. At least, we will be by the time FF7 Rebirth's port comes out in June, 2026 – right around the Not-E3 and Summer Game Fest season, I might add.
Whenever the finale decides to rear its head, Hamaguchi recently said the game won't be compromised or have any major differences no matter what system you're playing it on.
