The Witcher might be a behemoth of an RPG series for CD Projekt Red, but it's official – Cyberpunk 2077 is now the "main source of revenue" for the company as it surpasses 35 million sales in just under five years.
In a new commentary video about the company's latest quarterly financial results, chief financial officer Piotr Nielubowicz confirms the hefty new sales milestone, adding (via English subtitles): "That's a better result than The Witcher 3 was able to achieve in the same post-release timeframe. Cyberpunk is now our main source of revenue, and we continue to expand its availability."
Of course, we've seen plenty of that expansion of availability happen this year, with the RPG's Switch 2 port and arrival on Apple Silicon-powered Macs. Nielubowicz also notes that Cyberpunk 2077's addition to the PlayStation Plus game catalogs for Extra and Premium subscribers "supported sales of the Phantom Liberty expansion on PlayStation consoles."
Even though Cyberpunk 2077 is now available to play via PlayStation's subscription service, Nielubowicz says CD Projekt has seen "stronger organic sales of Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty on existing platforms compared to the previous year," so its PS Plus addition definitely hasn't been detrimental. As you'd expect, its sales were also boosted by the Switch 2 port.
All in all, it's a huge win for the team, which is sure to feel all the sweeter after the devs' immense effort to turn the RPG around after its notoriously rocky launch.
Looking ahead to the future, Nielubowicz also mentions The Witcher 4 – namely, its nomination for the The Game Awards 2025's "Most Anticipated Game" award. "This nomination – which comes despite the fact that we haven’t yet kicked off the game's proper marketing campaign – shows the extent to which the fourth instalment in The Witcher series is already hotly anticipated," he concludes.

I'm GamesRadar+'s Deputy News Editor, working alongside the rest of the news team to deliver cool gaming stories that we love. After spending more hours than I can count filling The University of Sheffield's student newspaper with Pokemon and indie game content, and picking up a degree in Journalism Studies, I started my career at GAMINGbible where I worked as a journalist for over a year and a half. I then became TechRadar Gaming's news writer, where I sourced stories and wrote about all sorts of intriguing topics. In my spare time, you're sure to find me on my Nintendo Switch or PS5 playing through story-driven RPGs like Xenoblade Chronicles and Persona 5 Royal, nuzlocking old Pokemon games, or going for a Victory Royale in Fortnite.
