Rumored Star Fox game for Switch 2 that Nintendo hasn't confirmed is nowhere to be seen and fans are all asking the same thing: What gives, Nintendo?
A prominent leaker claimed a new Star Fox game would be revealed in April
Star Fox fans are all asking the same question: Where's that rumored Switch 2 game at?
A few short weeks ago, prominent and normally reliable leaker NateTheHate claimed that a new Star Fox game is due to come out this year alongside a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The rumor made sense considering protagonist Fox McCloud was gearing up to have a surprisingly beefy role in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, and VGC later backed up all the chatter about it being a Switch 2 release.
But NateTheHate had also said Nintendo was planning to officially announce this new Star Fox game this month - as in, the April that's about to end - multiple times. He later explained that, from what he'd seen, this month was "the intended window for announcement," and he doesn't know "if the timeline has changed."
Article continues belowAlas, April is about to tick over into May, and the Nintendo Today app - where the company's been sharing increasingly major news, like Splatoon Raiders' release date - has only posted about a surprise Super Mario Galaxy 2 update and new tracks available on Nintendo Music. Not very encouraging for fans of the barrel roll.

We are past 8:45 AM EST. No Nintendo Today from r/starfox
The Star Fox subreddit paints a pretty dire picture, with multiple posts wondering where the hell the supposed announcement is and many more wondering if the game was ever real at all.
"I still have hope, but am preparing myself for crushing disappointment," one doom 'n' gloom comment reads.
Another says, "This is hell. Today, in my time, hell must be like this. A huge, empty room: I'm tired, with a tap which drips while I cannot drink the water, and I wait for something which will certainly be terrible, and nothing happens and nothing continues to happen." A far-fetched ResetEra thread even questions if Nintendo itself spread false rumors in order to plug up wherever its leakage originates from.
Weekly digests, tales from the communities you love, and more
As NateTheHate mentions, it's entirely possible that Nintendo has simply pushed back its planned announcement slightly since it would sit maybe uncomfortably close to the recent Splatoon Raiders reveal. Today also marks Japan's Golden Week, a week-long holiday in the country where Nintendo is unlikely to say much of anything.
In the meantime, outside of questioning all the rumors and leaks and whispers around the franchise, fans are spending their time wisely by arguing over shipping content. Apparently, one fan artist got a little too excited over their Wolf-Fox ships and got shipping content banned for everyone. The more you know, huh.
