The Expendables 2 has released a first clip online over at Ain’t It Cool News , showcasing Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham doing what they do best.
That would be, primarily, wielding big weapons, flexing biceps, taking out generic bad guys and barking one liners that can only be said with a grimace.
The footage sees the beret-wearing tough guys ziplining through a jungle like the over-enthusiastic tagalongs that take a stag-do paintball trip too seriously, before falling down into a sticky situation.
The script seems to consist entirely of one-liners, and incumbent director Simon West ( Con Air ) isn’t attempting to make the action any more plausible than it was the first time round.
There’s also a peek at Liam Hemsworth’s character, who hasn’t played a big role in the marketing thus far. Will The Hunger Games hunk help draw in the female crowds, or will The Expendables 2 remain a boys' own affair?
Check out the clip below:
The Expendables 2 opens on 17 August 2012.
