The episode kicks off with the return of a familiar face in Paul Reiser's The Legend. He's far from where we last saw him as Vought informant and is now working under a pseudonym at VMC theaters. Mother's Milk pays him a visit to see if he has any insight on Bombsight's location – and he doesn't give him much of a chance to say no.
The Boys are giving it one last shot to find the V-One, starting the timer for their other plan to release the Supe virus during a sermon at the Democratic Church of America. Starlight and Hughie head to set that up while the rest of the team head to Vought Villages in search of Golden Geisha (Goldie), who according to The Legend, is their ticket to Bombsight.
Meanwhile, back at the Tower, Homelander and Sister Sage are continuing their trials for V-One and, spoiler alert, they're not going so well. As an unfortunate subject bleeds out via their backside, Homelander updates The Deep on Firecracker's elimination and they get him on a new task to champion a pipeline under the ocean.
Sister Sage is starting to sense she's not getting the full picture of Homelander's plan and uses Bashley to find out what she's missing. The Supe on the back of Ashley's head listens into Soldier Boy's thoughts and finds out that they have a lead on Bombsight that they don't want her to know about. She decides to initiate phase 3 of her plan, which is seemingly removing her chip and defecting to The Boys.

Unfortunately, the gang isn't having so much luck with Goldie. After it's clear that she doesn't want to talk, they kidnap her. The plan works but not without a quick fight with some geriatric Supes on their way out of the door. Sage also turns up, claiming they have a mutual enemy in Homelander and says she can help them get Bombsight there by using Goldie as bait.
It turns out that Bombsight wanted to give the V-One to Goldie in order to help her live forever, but she wasn't interested in that. It gives Kimiko and Frenchie the chance to address their own situation too as she reveals that while she'd take it for him, she doesn't want to become a vampire either. It seems like some tough decisions are going to be made for these two, as well as Starlight and Hughie, in the coming episodes.
There are some more backdoor hints about the upcoming Vought Rising show as Homelander and Soldier Boy have a heart-to-heart about their joint love for Clara Vought (Stormfront). Soldier Boy finds out what really happened to her and reveals that they were together for decades and deeply in love. Like father, like son, I guess.
The pipeline storyline is lingering in the background of this episode until it's revealed that there's been a huge leak, killing millions of fish. The Deep is pretty torn up about it before Black Noir reveals that he caused it by punching a hole in the pipeline. It's the final straw for the Supe who strangles and stabs Noir, adding to season 5's bodycount.
Hughie and Starlight have been sneaking into the Democratic Church of America while this has been going on. It's all going to plan for them until Oh Father turns up and gets the upper hand on Annie. Don't bet against Hughie though – he tells Oh Father that he'll use the virus on him as Annie has had the antidote if he doesn't let her go. The pair manage to live another day.
Homelander closes in on The Boys after he finds The Legend who volunteers the information of their headquarters and their plans with Goldie and Bombsight. While this doesn't help much, he lets on that Goldie wears a Vought Alert necklace. Homelander tracks those coordinates straight to them. He even lets The Legend live too after he acts unexpectedly unafraid of Homelander. Was that all it took to survive an encounter with the blonde-haired Supe this whole time?
Bombsight comes to rescue Golden Geisha where he encounters Butcher and the gang. When it doesn't seem to be going to plan to win the V-One back, Sage makes a huge miscalculation by texting Soldier Boy to turn up.
He and Bombsight duke it out before Soldier Boy promises to take away his powers to let him die naturally, and he hands over the V-One. Homelander then turns up, wanting the V-One – and surprisingly Soldier Boy hands it right over, saying it's what Clara Vought would have wanted. Homelander takes it, unleashes a huge laser and becomes immortal. "Run," Butcher tells the others. This battle just got a whole lot harder…

The Legend – Paul Reiser returns in the new episode as The Legend. But he's no longer working for Vought or as an informant, he's hiding under a new name at VMC theaters.
The Deep Popcorn Bucket – Hopping on the trend of bespoke popcorn buckets, it turns out The Deep has got a special one too. It looks a lot like the Wolverine one from the release of Deadpool and Wolverine too.
AMC Advert – VMC has got an advert parodying Nicole Kidman's AMC advert. However, it's Firecracker voicing this version.
Cate Dunlop – The Gen V character Cate Dunlop appears on the wall of posters when Hughie and Starlight sneak into Vought. She's on a wall with "almost every psychic in the country". What's Homelander planning there?
Queen Maeve Notepad – When Sister Sage decides to change sides and join The Boys, she picks up her notepad and it has a picture of Queen Maeve on it. She's clearly a big fan.
