Who is Bombsight in The Boys season 5 and why has he taken the V-One?
It seems like Soldier Boy and Bombsight have some history
As The Boys season 5 continues, it is becoming clear that the final season is all about V-One, with both Homelaner and Butcher desperate to get their hands on a batch. V-One is the first strain of Compound V administered to Vought Rising characters Soldier Boy, Bombsight, Stormfront, Private Angel, and Torpedo, which granted them great powers and stopped them from aging. So, pretty much, they're immortal.
However, it seems as though Bombsight, if he is even still alive, may be the only Supe who has access to V-One, making him an incredibly important character.
We'll be getting into spoilers from The Boys season 5 episodes 1-5 from here on out, so make sure you've seen the latest episode before reading on.
In The Boys season 5 episode 4, we learn that Bombsight beat both the Boys and Homelander to Fort Harmony, the facility where Vought first administered the substance to unlucky victims. The Boys find out that Bombsight got his hands on the last batch "not too long ago" by punching through the safe. Then, in The Boys season 5 episode 5, Mister Marathon tells Soldier Boy that Bombsight has the last batch, setting both parties on his tail. But who exactly is the new Supe?
Who is Bombsight in The Boys?
Due to be played by Stranger Things star Mason Dye, the character was first mentioned back in season 4 when it was revealed he was a former combat pilot who is the third-oldest Supe in existence. He's also, as many Supes are, a film star and appeared in the Vought movie Curse of Fu Manchu.
He's an original character for the show, too, and not from the comic books, but The Boys did reveal some more details about the character in the latest episode. First of all, we know Bombsight in The Boys is super strong, as he's been able to punch straight through the safe, which, as Butcher reveals, only a few dozen Supes can.
We also know he hasn't been seen "for decades" and was thought to be dead, according to Frenchie. And finally, as Hughie points out, Bombsight is from Soldier Boy's era, so would have likely already been shot up with V-One when he was turned.

His motive for taking the V-One then remains mysterious. Could he be hoping to save some other Supes or even hoping to turn some? We're willing to bet that answers will be imminent as the character looks set to arrive very soon in the show.
This won't be the last time we see him, either, as he's also due to appear in the upcoming Soldier Boy prequel Vought Rising, alongside Soldier Boy and Stormfront.
