Pick of the month for May 2026

The Punisher: One Last Kill

The last time we saw Frank Castle he was breaking out of prison at the end of Daredevil: Born Again season 1. Well, you can't keep the Punisher down. This Marvel Television Special Presentation sees Frank – once again played by Jon Bernthal – try to find a little peace, only for it to be brutally snatched away. Now he must re-enter the fray in the only way he knows how: by punching, stabbing, and shooting his way through hordes of baddies.

This is the third of these Marvel Television Special Presentations, following Werewolf By Night and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. Those were both great, so we have high hopes for this one...

Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord season finale

Yep, this terrific animated Star Wars show is already reaching the finish line. It's been an exciting and surprising show, with Maul (Sam Witwer) attempting to forge a new criminal empire in the galaxy and train an apprentice. But even darker forces are surrounding him and in these final two episodes it looks like everything is about to reach a head.

Concentrating on an explicitly villainous character has worked wonders for this show and made Shadow Lord a must-watch each week. If you've been enjoying it so far and are sad that it's wrapping up, don't worry... Disney has confirmed that a second season is in development.

Daredevil: Born Again season 2 finale

And back in Marvel land, Daredevil: Born Again's superb second season is reaching its grand finale. It's been an absolutely superb season, with the conflict between Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) reaching ever more dangerous heights that could consume the entire city.

Last week's episode ended on a real gut punch. The most exciting thing about this much-improved second season, however, is the sense that it could go anywhere. Who will be left standing as the Man Without Fear takes on the Kingpin, perhaps for the last time?
