Send us pictures of your craziest DIY zombie-killing weapons and win one of five copies of the game
One of the best things about the Dead Rising series is the ability to slay hundreds, if not thousands, of zombies using the most outlandish and inventive weapons known to man, such as the paddlesaw (two chainsaws on the ends of a paddle), Freedom Bear (oversized teddy bear + machine gun = motion sensing teddy turret) and Drill Bucket (put a bucket on a zombies head and drill some holes, simple but oh-so-satisfying), which is why we’ve teamed up with Capcom to offer five copies of the new game Dead Rising 2: Off The Record to the five people who come up with the craziest zombie-killing-devices concocted using only everyday household implements such as the cat grenade, or tooth floss garotte (but better, and less likely to get you arrested for animal cruelty).
Dead Rising 2: Off The Record has a new story, following the original game’s journo hero Frank West, with new missions, new enemies, new areas and of course, new combo weapons. A brand new sandbox mode allowing you to a completely open-ended sandbox version of Dead Rising 2 with no timer, something fans of the series have been crying out for for years. There’s also a brand new “Uranus Zone” sci-fi theme park with new zombies, new weapons and attractions to help Frank dispatch mass amounts of zombies. Fans of the first game in particular will be glad to know Frank’s camera is back and better, allowing you to share photos with friends in the co-op mode.
It’s the game Dead Rising 2 always should have been, a full-release at a budget price (just £24.99) and it’s out Friday 14 October (that’s just two days away calendar fans!) To win it’s going to take more than answering a simple, multiple choice question, however. We want you to come up with your own, homemade zombie-killing-implement of choice whether it be with a pencil and paper, a piece of software or a photograph of something you’ve cobbled together with your own two hands (like the bonkers gun above). Entries can be submitted through our competition site here . The competition is open until 4 November, at which point we’ll choose our five favourite entries to win a copy of the game on your format of choice.

Fun fact: two of my favourite films released on the same day - Blade Runner and The Thing.
