Arizona Sunshine is back, and zany zombie slaughter isn't just for VR anymore
Fight off the undead in the classic series reimagined for third-person
What's better than fighting off hordes of undead? Fighting off hordes of undead with a friend! And what's better than fighting off hordes of undead with a friend? Doing so with a furry friend!
Yes, Arizona Sunshine, the formerly VR-only zombie shooter, is coming back in third-person across all major platforms, and a new trailer at the Future Games Show just gave us some all-important new details about what to expect. Perhaps most importantly, there's a dog on your team, and you can play as him.

Release date: TBC 2027
The co-op zombie action game is coming to PC and console next year with its trademark brutal, frantic, and very fun apocalyptic gameplay.
Our protagonist is Sunny, "an unhinged, foul-mouthed survivor, just seeking connection", using all kinds of heavy-duty or weird weapons to hold back the endless zombie apocalypse. Arizona Sunshine might've started in the VR era, but Sunny and the gleeful way he dispatches the undead gives me strong late 2000s energy - as in Left 4 Dead, Dead Rising, and Zombieland. That Hawaiian shirt is a big giveaway.
Speaking of Left 4 Dead, another thing that Arizona Sunshine is bringing back is co-op focus, with both online and split-screen options for those who want to kill corpses together. We see secondary players dressed as chickens and hot dogs (again, very Dead Rising), but not only that, there's even the previously-alluded to option to take over as Sunny's German shepherd Buddy and tear your foes apart with tooth and claw.
If you're ready to fight the horde while building friendships, Arizona Sunshine is planned for release within 2027 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2.
