Marvel considering Angelina Jolie as Captain Marvel director

Marvel has its eye on a potential director for Captain Marvel, with Collider reporting that Angelina Jolie is under serious consideration for the position. The star had initially been linked to the project a couple of months back, but the interest on Marvel’s part has apparently become more concrete since then.

Marvel is thought to be keen on a high-profile female director for Captain Marvel, and Jolie would certainly fit that criteria. The report had initially claimed that the star was also being considered by Warner for the Wonder Woman gig, but that slot has now been filled by Patty Jenkins.

Whether or not Jolie is interested in the film remains to be seen, with most of her directorial choices so far having been more personal projects. However, there’s no denying the lure of one of the biggest studios currently operating in Hollywood…

Captain Marvel is currently set to arrive in the UK on 6 July 2018 and the US on 2 November 2018. Plenty of time for negotiations to take place…
