Variety says Battlestar Galactica main man Ronald D Moore has signed a deal to make a big-screen science fiction trilogy. Produced by Tom Cruise’s United Artists, the project is shrouded in secrecy, and will give Moore something to do when Galactica’s four-year journey ends.

Something Fishy
A remake of Joe Dante’s 1978 Jaws spoof Piranha, directed by French helmer Alexandre Aja (Switchblade Romance), is to be made in 3D, according to SCI FI Wire . It’s set to be the first ever R-rated live-action 3D movie, and Aja’s promised it’ll push the boundaries of screen gore. “We are ready to break all the records of blood used,” he said.

Get Lost

Comics legend Stan Lee has created a new superhero team, according to Digital Spy . Lee’s signed a deal to make CG movies, as well as spin-offs like games, with the characters.
