Conan's Clueless Gamer skits are being expanded into a standalone TV series

Clueless Gamer has been one of Conan O'Brien's most popular skits since it debuted in 2012. If you're a fan, you might want to keep an eye on TBS; according to The Hollywood Reporter, the skit will soon spin off into its own full-fledged TV series, which will air on the network.

One caveat: it won't be O'Brien's face you see on the couch, chatting up celebrities while they play. THR reports that he'll serve as executive producer, but a host has yet to be revealed. "We've gotten to the point where video game companies are sending us their new product for us to play and make fun of because it's been such a huge success," TBS president Kevin Reilly told THR in a recent interview.

The most recent Clueless Gamer, where O'Brien sat down with Terry Crews for a few rounds of Battlefield 1, has nearly 3 million views on YouTube. Mortal Kombat X with Marshawn Lynch and Rob Gronkowski has an impressive 16.5 million views. So viewership is definitely there. I just wonder who could play the role of host well enough that people wouldn't constantly be clamoring for O'Brien to take over again.

There's no word on when the series would premiere, but O'Brien is contracted with TBS through 2018, so it shouldn't be too long.
