Amy Adams and Reese Witherspoon up for Trouble With The Curve

Amy Adams and Reese Witherspoon are competing to star opposite Clint Eastwood in Trouble With The Curve now that Sandra Bullock has walked away from the movie.

The producers are obviously aiming for an awards-calibre lady to star opposite Clint, who's stepping in front of the camera again despite threatening that Gran Torino would be his acting swansong.

Trouble With The Curve sees Eastwood playing an ageing baseball scout with failing eyesight, as he sets out on one last trip with his daughter to check out a hot new prospect.

Is it just us or does that premise alone have you fighting back a lump in your throat? This is gonna get teary…

Bullock was in negotiations for the role, but a deal couldn't be made according to Twitchfilm .

Out of the two actresses in contention, we'd probably rather see Adams get this one. We reckon she's got the gutsiness to go toe-to-toe with Clint, and she's never less than charming on screen.

Robert Lorenz, longtime second unit director and producer for Eastwood, is calling the shots on this one.
