Zack Snyder teases The Flash's cameo in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Not for nothing is Batman v Superman subtitled Dawn of Justice. We've known for a while that the film would also include a glimpse of other Justice League members, and thanks to Zack Snyder we now know a little more about how the speedster of the group will be introduced.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, the director revealed that Batman v Superman will include multiple nightmare sequences for the titular heroes. During one of Bruce Wayne's dreams, The Flash (played by Ezra Miller) will appear and deliver a "cryptic message" to the Dark Knight. As Snyder notes, "We had such a straightforward narrative, on one hand, I wanted this other layer of the movie to be complicated and bizarre."

This would certainly be an interesting and unique way to introduce the Scarlet Speedster to DC's movie universe. We've seen glimpses of Batman's nightmare sequence in various pieces of marketing leading up to the film, and comic book fans have already spotted Darkseid-related Easter eggs in the trailers.

With Flash's ability to time-travel, it seems likely that the speedster could be warning Batman of what's to come. That's definitely one theory we could file under "complicated and bizarre"...

Directed by Zack Snyder and starring Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Diane Lane, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Laurence Fishburne, and Amy Adams, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will arrive in UK and US cinemas on March 25, 2016.
