Trion Worlds is closing its Guildford, U.K. branch as part of a company-wide reorganization. The news, reported by MCV, comes just a week after the Defiance and Rift publisher announced the closure of its San Diego studio.
The Guildford office was dedicated to European publishing operations, and more than 10 employees will be laid off as a result of the closure, according to a statement from Trion. Localization efforts will remain unaffected as all localization occurs at its Redwood City, Calif. headquarters.
Newly appointed CEO Scott Hartsman said in an email to employees sent last week that Trion is following a new strategy, one "closer to the foundation of how we've had our wins so far."
