E3 2010: I Am Alive trailer is a complete disaster

There's an earthquake and everything

The Ubisoft pre-show conference uttered not a single word on earthquake-survival game, I Am Alive. So it's kind of weird that this never-before-seen trailer has just emerged. Why would Ubisoft not show it at its own dedicated press gathering? I repeat. It's weird.

But never mind. The trailer looks good. I like the idea of playing a game that puts me in the middle of a disaster. Even this minute long glimpse makes me feel tense and terrified in a kind of Dante's Peak, Towering Inferno, Poseidon Adventure kind of way. Witness the disasterfication:

You see. This trailer really is a complete disaster.

meh. It could be really exciting, or not at all. I think a lot of players are going to be in great disturbance since many of the npc's and protagonist are very similar to real people who either survive or die in earthquakes around the globe anually.

I've been looking forward to this game for around 2 years now. I'm just concerned that it's been hot-potatoed too much. Gunna give it the benefit of the doubt though cause it's so original & i love the thought of a survival game.

My guess is that it was pulled from the Ubisoft conference due to that Sinkhole disaster in South America a week or 2 ago.

    There's a science/discovery channel show called I am Alive...

Apparently it's been taken down, so it must have been real.

Side note: I wish Team Ico were making it though, cuz inevitably this will end up with some drawn out over blown normal dude turn hero plot, where as I'd much rather play a normal dude at the end of the world kind of scenario, but have 1/10 confidence in Ubisofts ability to not attempt to emulate the hollywood blockbuster style of narrative.

I'm loving the premise but I really wanna see Gameplay, cuz I can't get my head around how this will actually play. I'm guessing some kind of platformy, adventure title with maybe some brawling thrown in? IDK -_- Still looks cool though...

I've been curious about this game ever since they showed that first trailer with the guy being chased for a bottle of water. It's still looking good, but It's disappointing that they weren't ready to pull the tarp off the game. Oh well, maybe next year or some other gaming event like TGS. K, I don't normally, but I had to show this recaptcha: flutists government

They add a phyco element to this, and it could be absoutly fantastic.

my mom is a BIG horror & disaster movie fan (like weekend marathon big), so growing up i saw a ton of these, and this looks very VERY good.

Wasn't there already a game where you took pictures in a disaster zone to try and save your girlfriend or something?

Survival horror without the horror? Looks awesome! Fighting over food and water, and themes of how far people will go to survive and all that.
